According to the latest Coolbrands list in the UK, traditional luxury brand Rolex fell out of the 2015/16 Top 20, and Rolex was ninth last year. Similar to the situation is the champagne brand Dom Perignon, which ranked eighth last year. Today, the list is mostly occupied by emerging technology brands, such as Netflix, Instagram, Spotify, and of course Apple, which has been ranked first for four consecutive years.
For other brands, British retailer Liberty came to the bottom, while Selfridges, which ranked 19th last year, disappeared from the list. Glastonbury and Royal Albert Hall’s third and thirteenth place also give some doubts about the composition of the brand definition. The Top 20 coolest brands list was selected by 2,500 British public and a team of 36 experts including actors, musicians and publishing editors. The results of the 2015/16 list show that the emotional establishment and maintenance of traditional luxury brands and the new generation of consumers are not optimistic.
