Elvis’ Tiffany’s Signature Diamond Watch Sets A New Record For Omega Auction Transactions

From May 12th to 13th, 2018, at the seventh Geneva watch auction of Filiz, an Omega wrist that was once owned by Elvis Presley The watch (Lot 160) was sold for 1,812,500 Swiss francs (approximately RMB 11.5 million), which surpassed the prototype Omega Tourbillon watch ($ 1.4 million) sold last November and set a new record for brand timepiece auctions.

The dial of this watch is decorated with a Tiffany signature and the bezel is set with diamonds. However, compared to the interesting and charming tourbillon watch, it is slightly plain and ordinary. The watch’s pre-sale estimate was ‘only’ 50,000 to 100,000 Swiss francs, and it was finally sold for 1,812,500 Swiss francs, entirely due to celebrity effects and historical significance. ‘Elvis Presley’ has worn this watch many times, with photos as evidence, and the watch also shows traces of baptism with time.

Omega Museum curator PetrosProtopapas participated in the auction on behalf of the brand, taking the lead in bidding one million Swiss francs, breaking through six figures, and finally successfully photographed. (Photo / text watch home Xu Chaoyang)
