A truly timeless watch whose design can reflect the unique personality and long history of the brand, and become a classic icon of the brand at the moment of birth. A definitive example, the Luminor 1950 3 Days – 47 mm 3-day power reserve watch, its simple lines perfectly echo the retro charm of Panerai Panerai watches, making simple lovers love it. Panerai launched a new style for the Luminor 1950 3 Days 3 Days Power Reserve Left-Handed Watch, showing another historical feature of the brand: the left-hand control design, the winding crown and the bridge guard are located at 9 o’clock on the left side of the case.
Left-handed watches have played an important role in the history of Panerai. Italian navy commandos often need to wear several instruments on their wrists at the same time. In addition to the watch used to indicate the synchronized attack time and calculate the ship’s submersible time, they also need to wear a compass and depth gauge. For convenience, some team members will wear the watch on the right wrist, so Panerai has developed a watch with the crown on the left for them to wind easily. A few of the brand’s watches still retain this rare feature.
The case of the Luminor 1950 Left-Handed 3 Days power reserve left-handed watch is made of stainless steel, and the details are different from those of the classic Luminor 1950 case: the outer periphery of the case is pointed, and the pillow shape is looming. This detail of the new case is directly taken from some Panerai’s pillow-shaped Radiomir watches introduced in 1936 and gradually transformed into a large-scale Luminor watch with bridge protection. The classic watch design of this period elaborated the important transformation of the brand at that time.
Another feature of the new watch is the minimalist black dial. The dial is decorated with oversized numerals, engraved with ‘Luminor Panerai’, and adopts a ‘sandwich’ dial structure. Super-LumiNova® luminous coating is added between the two overlapping dial layers to bring a clear luminous effect to the dial. Improve readability. The dial has deliberately replaced sapphire crystal glass with Plexiglas® Plexiglas, which is similar in nature to the polymethylmethacrylate crystal glass used in previous watches, and has a retro look.
The Luminor 1950 Left-Handed 3 Days is equipped with a manually wound P.3000 movement and a three-day power reserve. It is entirely developed and produced by Panerai in the Neuchâtel watch factory. With a diameter of 16½ centimeters and outstanding structure, it has a typical bridge plate structure. It is equipped with two barrels to provide 3 days of power reserve and a balance wheel diameter of 13.2 mm. The P.3000 movement is also equipped with a quick time adjustment function. The hour hand beats independently at one hour per division, without affecting the movement of the minute hand, and it is not necessary to turn the minute hand to advance the hour hand.
Luminor 1950 Left-Handed 3 Days (PAM00557) is water-resistant and can reach a depth of 100 meters (10 bar). It is equipped with an unprocessed primary leather strap and a frosted stainless steel buckle. Watch features. Each watch comes with a rubber strap and a spare Plexiglas® Plexiglas.
